Patricia Klein: Teaching

Current teaching:

I am currently teaching the graduate topics course Math 662: Symmetric Function Theory. If you are a student in my class, you will find the course syllabus and homework assignments on the course Canvas page.

I have office hours Tuesdays from 11-12 (in BLOC 342BC). We also have a class brown bag lunch Wednesdays from 12-1 (in BLOC 602). Any graduate student, whether or not they are enrolled in Math 662, is welcome to join these lunches for conversation about algebra, geometry, and combinatorics; for professional development; or for chatting. Lunch will transition into office hours (still in BLOC 602) around 1 and continue until 2.

Previous teaching:

Prevously at TAMU I have taught Math 653: Algebra I (graduate level) and Math 415: Algebra I (undergraduate level).

At the University of Minnesota, I taught Math 5285H: Honors: Fundamental Structures of Algebra I, Math 5286H: Honors: Fundamental Structures of Algebra II, and Math 5248: Cryptology and Number Theory.

During my time in graduate school at the Universtiy of Michigan, I taught Calculus I (Math 115), Calculus II (Math 116), and Math for Elementary School Teachers (Math 385).

I also taught math in M-STEM academies - a program whose goal is to strengthen and diversify the set of UM undergraduates choosing STEM majors through a rigorous academic and community-building program the summer before students start at UM - during summers 2016, 2017, and 2018. It is an excellent program. Please ask me about its many successes.
